Mulberry wants to get big in Japan.The British leather goods group best known for its handbags is launching a new Japanese joint venture months after it struck a similar deal for Greater China.Mulberry is expanding internationally after a turnround in strategy that has boosted its bottom line. Following an earlier attempt to take its brand upmarket the leather goods group has introduced lower price points and continues to reap the benefits of its shift towards affordable luxury. In the year to March Mulberry’s pre-tax profits rose by a fifth to £7.5m.The British luxury brand has signed a deal with Japanese company Onward Global Fashion to form a 50:50
